Black Bear Diner Draper

It's just a good fun family restaurant with awesome food. The menu is huge, so there is something for everyone. Service is great. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. Great prices and big portions. A must stop.

Just visited this black bear for the first time and it was a breath of fresh air. The food was great, service was fast, and our server, Daveo Ho was among the very best individuals I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. Attentive enthusiastic and genuine. We will absolutely be back!

The Black Bear Diner is okay. I think the food isn’t memorable. I got the Bread Pudding French Toast and it had raisins in it. The server was really nice.

A new favorite chain! Grateful this one was right next to our hotel. Some of the most kind, attentive staff (Ron and Lyssa were our wait staff) anywhere, and the menu "Black Bear Gazette" newspaper talks about how you'll get more than you thought and it'll be better than you thought, and our expectations were *still* exceeded on both those fronts. We had the full course dinners with slow cooked pot roast and ribs, and then a turkey club and smaller dinner of pot roast for lunch, as well as a banana cream pie. Everything was at least good, and the ribs, roast, mashed potatoes and gravy, onion rings, huckleberry shake, and fresh squeezed orange juice were especially excellent. I adore bears and clearly so do the folks at Black Bear diner! The decor was a real treat for me and the mementos/merch cute and tempting. We will absolutely be back.

5 stars — Daveo is a gem! I had such a great experience at the Black Bear Diner in Draper, and a big part of that was thanks to our server, Daveo. From the moment we sat down, he was warm, welcoming, and totally on top of everything. His attention to detail was outstanding—not just with our table, but with every guest around us. He made sure our order was perfect, checked in just the right amount, and somehow managed to remember little preferences we didn’t even say out loud. You can tell he genuinely cares about making people feel comfortable and taken care of. It’s rare to come across servers who strike that perfect balance of friendly, efficient, and observant—but Daveo does it effortlessly. Give that man a raise! We’ll definitely be back—and asking for his section. Every Monday!

Every time I come to this location I always have an amazing experience! Today was even better! Our server Ella was exceptional!! She wane above and beyond to ensure that we got all the food we wanted! She was so sweet and made me feel like she actually cared! I love this location so much!

Enjoyed our time here. their was a 10 min wait, but it felt more like 5 min moved so quickly. the service was excellent, the food was fresh and delicious . Loved the sauce so much that we ended up buying one on our way out.

Sat right away. Only 2 other tables besides us. Server was friendly and attentive. Food was good. Nothing crazy amazing. Reason why I rated only 3 stars is because after ordering drinks my husband noticed they had cold brew coffee and asked to exchange his hot coffee for cold brew. ( no big deal it’s even cheaper than the hot coffee). Wrong. Server stated her manager would not let her switch it out because of “inventory discrepancies”. We were shocked. And it made the whole experience unpleasant. We kept thinking how could that be so hard to switch? How are they keeping inventory on bottomless coffee and bottom less cold brew? I noticed the cute little notes from the owners on our place mats. Which made me wonder why oh why can’t they switch out the hot coffee for cold coffee ? Customer service must not matter? They strive for excellent service but that is not true in our case.
